Carrier Tariffs

A carrier tariff sets which pricing list to use for each type of call with a particular carrier. It tells the platform what you expect to pay that carrier, so you can compare expected costs against the actual costs in their call data.

When you buy call services wholesale, each carrier has its own pricing. A carrier tariff links a carrier to the call tariffs that describe those wholesale rates. This lets the platform:

  • Work out the expected cost of each call from a carrier
  • Compare that expected cost against the actual cost in the carrier’s CDRs
  • Highlight differences for you to investigate
  • They use call tariffs marked as wholesale, rather than the retail tariffs you charge customers.
  • They sit alongside carrier call types, which map a carrier’s call categories onto the platform’s call types.

This section defines which carriers this tariff configuration applies to, including the main carrier and call carrier references.

No fields defined for this section.

The fields group into:

  • Carrier Details: which carrier this tariff applies to.
  • Tariff Details: the wholesale tariff used to price the carrier’s calls.
  • Advanced Configuration: finer control over how the expected cost is worked out.
  1. Open the carrier you want to price.
  2. Add a carrier tariff and choose the wholesale tariff to apply.
  3. Save.

Once set, the platform prices each carrier call against the carrier tariff and compares it with the actual CDR cost. Differences point to rate changes or mismatched call types worth checking.

  • Permission: Users need the Tariffs permission to view or edit carrier tariffs (the same permission used for call tariffs).
